The perpetrators simulated romantic relationships and successful investments, using fake accounts and disguises during video calls to gain access to the victims' cryptocurrency wallets.
In Dnipro and Kyiv, law enforcement agencies have uncovered a fraudulent scheme in which scammers defrauded citizens of Lithuania for millions of hryvnias through dating sites and messaging apps.
The scammers befriended the victims, simulating romantic relationships and offering lucrative investments. To gain the victims' trust, they used fake accounts and disguises during video calls.
The perpetrators gained access to the victims' cryptocurrency wallets and stole their funds. Currently, law enforcement agencies are establishing a complete list of victims and the amount of losses.
