In Dnipro, dog owners were reminded of their responsibility for not cleaning up after their pets in public places. According to Article 154 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses, failing to clean up after one's pet is a violation that can result in a warning or a fine ranging from 170 to 340 hryvnias.

The legislation provides an exception for cases where animals are walked in designated areas. However, dog owners must take into account local regulations regarding the keeping and walking of pets, established by the relevant local authorities.

In the event of a second violation within a year, a stricter penalty applies under the same article. Cases under the first part of article 154 of the Code of Administrative Offenses are reviewed by administrative commissions at the executive bodies of city councils, while cases of repeated violations are reviewed by courts. Police officers have the authority to draw up protocols for administrative offenses as defined in article 154 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

To hold the owner accountable, specific circumstances must be established. Photographs and videos may have evidentiary value, but they are assessed in conjunction with other materials in the case. The Department of Legal Support of the Dnipro City Council urged residents to treat pets responsibly and to respect the people who live nearby.
