A psychosocial support center called "Dotyk" has been opened in Dnipro.
A municipal psychosocial support center, "Touch," has opened in Dnipro for residents and internally displaced persons. The center will provide psychological, social, and legal assistance, as well as physical rehabilitation services, or refer individuals to partner organizations, after assessing their needs. The project is being implemented as part of the ProMental Health program, with the participation of international partners.
In Dnipro, the "Dotyk" psychosocial support center for the population, established by the Dnipro city council, has opened its doors. Residents of the city and people who have relocated to Dnipro can receive psychological, social, and legal assistance, as well as physical rehabilitation services here.
According to the center's director, Rafael Kizhner, after an initial assessment of needs, experts determine the specific support required by the individual and provide it directly at "Dotyk" or refer the person to relevant partner organizations. The areas of work include individual consultations, rehabilitation, case management, support for children and families, group activities, training sessions, and creative events. A separate area is mobile response after shelling and other emergencies.
Deputy Mayor of Dnipro, Yuriy Yandulsky, noted that the consequences of the war are not only measured by the number of damaged buildings: psychological trauma, loss of loved ones, forced displacement, and injuries, all contribute to the need for systematic assistance within the community.
The project is being implemented within the ProMental Health program, which aims to strengthen the ability of local government bodies to provide psychological, social, legal, and humanitarian services. International partners have joined the project; Pavel Kost, the head of the Representation of the International Fund for Solidarity in Ukraine, emphasized that the responsibility for the further development of the project lies with the local level. Public and charitable organizations are also involved, and particular attention will be paid to children and families.
If the visitor's needs fall outside the scope of "Dotyk," they will be redirected to other specialized services. The center's contact number is +380 95 356 27 84.
