A group involved in the sexual exploitation of women was apprehended in Dnipro.
A criminal group operating in Dnipro has been exposed, which recruited women from vulnerable groups, promising high salaries, and then forcing them into sexual exploitation. Four individuals have been charged with human trafficking.
In Dnipro, law enforcement agencies uncovered a criminal group involved in the sexual exploitation of women. The organizer, two administrators, and a security guard recruited women who were in need of money and had debts, promising them high earnings and assistance through deception.
Subsequently, the women were taken to rented accommodations where their documents, phones, and personal belongings were confiscated. They were subjected to physical and psychological abuse, including beatings and threats. Fines were imposed for violations of the so-called "discipline," artificially increasing their debts.
The perpetrators attempted to conceal their illegal activities by constantly changing the rented premises. Four local residents have been informed of suspicion related to the crime of human trafficking (Article 149, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). They face a prison sentence of 5 to 12 years, with the possibility of asset confiscation.
Currently, investigative actions are ongoing to identify all the women and other individuals involved in the crime, as well as to determine the full extent of the harm caused. The issue of whether to impose preventative measures on the suspects is being considered.
