The Zhovtovod community mourns the loss of defender Serhiy Makhinya.
October 15 — A funeral was held for Serhiy Mahynya in the Zhovtovod community, who died while defending Ukraine. Serhiy joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in August 2023 and served in the eastern part of the country, receiving state awards. He died on February 28 2026 as a result of an attack by a Russian FPV drone near Lyman in the Donetsk region.
October 15 The Zhovtodvsk community bid farewell to Serhiy Mahyne, who died while defending Ukraine. The farewell ceremony was attended by family, friends, comrades, colleagues, government officials, and residents of the community.
According to the Yevtusovo city council, Serhiy Mahinya was a person who always placed his family first. He is remembered as a loving husband, a caring father, and a good friend who valued time with loved ones and dreamed of raising his children to be happy.
Serhiy joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in August 2023 year. He served in the eastern part of the country, held the status of a combatant, and was awarded state honors. The soldier died on February 28 2026 year as a result of an attack by a Russian FPV drone near Lyman, in the Donetsk region, while carrying out a combat mission.
